Fire Safety Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fire Safety Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Fire Safety Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and protection of people, property, and assets from fire hazards. This position involves the application of engineering principles and fire science knowledge to design, implement, and maintain effective fire safety systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire safety engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Fire Safety System Design: Design and develop fire safety systems, including fire detection, suppression, and evacuation systems, in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  2. Risk Assessment: Conduct comprehensive fire risk assessments for buildings, facilities, and industrial processes to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
  3. Code Compliance: Ensure that all fire safety systems and designs adhere to local, national, and international fire safety codes and standards.
  4. Collaboration: Work closely with architects, builders, and other stakeholders to integrate fire safety measures seamlessly into the overall design and construction process.
  5. Inspections and Testing: Oversee the installation, inspection, and testing of fire safety systems to ensure proper functionality and compliance with established standards.
  6. Emergency Response Planning: Develop and implement emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, fire drills, and training programs to enhance the preparedness of occupants and emergency responders.
  7. Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports related to fire safety systems.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and changes in regulations to recommend and implement improvements to existing fire safety systems.

 

Qualifications

  1. Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Experience: Proven experience in fire safety engineering, with a minimum of [X] years in the field.
  3. Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license and certification as a Fire Protection Specialist are preferred.
  4. Knowledge: In-depth understanding of fire science, fire dynamics, and relevant building and fire codes.
  5. Skills:
    1. Proficiency in using fire modelling software and other relevant engineering tools.
    2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    4. Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.
  6. Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with local, national, and international fire safety regulations and codes.
  7. Project Management: Experience managing fire safety projects from conception to completion.
